She is doing much better now and was released from the hospital. Her sister, Carol, is there to care for her 24/7. She is still in extreme pain and the loss of Don has left her heart very heavy. She misses her friend very much.
Mom works for Southwest Airlines so when the accident happened they offered to fly any of her family to Phoenix. As soon as we could, me, Scott, and the boys flew out to be with her. It was the first time the boys had flown and they were in a dream world. They sat in their seats buckled for two and a half hours without incident.
By the baggage claim, they found a real "super-fast" car. Just like their mom and dad, they can't resist a sweet car!
While we were with my mom, we were able to celebrate the 4th of July with my brother Scott's family and my younger siblings, Chelsea and Tyler. We had a great time at a little water park for children.

Snow cones with your cousins...does it get any better?
We are so grateful my Mom was spared and we will be there every step of the way through her recovery. (Just so you know, my mom told it was fine to share the pictures, even though they are a bit graphic.)
